Paulson Slams US Toothlessness

Never mind the rate cuts and the rescue plans. This housing kerfuffle is getting worse by the day and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is not liking it. In an interview yesterday, he issued what we could only call a gentle verbal spanking, charging that many of the boneheaded aid proposals being floated in Washington are nothing more than "bailouts" for reckless lenders, investors and speculators, rather than measures that would help cash-strapped, mortgage borrowers.
