Self-Policing

If there is any industry that cries foul whenever regulators come down too hard, it is financial services. Wouldn’t European-style principles-based regulation, i.e. less stringent rules, be better for all? Well, not necessarily. The question is, who is worse off for a lack of rules, the US or UK?
